We have been to this location several times over the past few years and each time I regret it. Last night's visit was typical: 1 The cashier girl who took our order was clearly disinterested. 2. The pulled chicken was full of skin and fat. Not much flavor. There doesn't seem to be much care or thought in preparation or display of the food. Just slop it on a bun. 3. The pulled pork was equally fatty, as was the brisket.. 4. The beans were overcooked and had a very harsh taste to them, almost bitter. 5. The cornbread is ALWAYS over baked here. Dark brown on the outside and very dry on the inside. How can any of the workers not noticed this when they toss it onto your tray? Seriously, I can make better BBQ by buying a roasted chicken breast from Krogers' deli section, and applying Open Pit BBQ sauce to it.

Great Lo Lo pulled pork w/ slaw. The gumbo was ...WOW!!!! Will defiantly take the family here in the future.... Maybe even use as a caterer! Service was excellent in Grove City Ohio!

This City BBQ was A-Ok. Staff was friendly and service was quick but when I opened up my to-go order it was 50% wrong. A real bummer when you're looking forward to their awesome pulled pork and you get dry pulled chicken. This wouldn't deter me from returning, just double checking my order before I leave with the goods!

Probably some of the best bbq that I have had since I moved to Columbus. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to my friends! The only drawback was the Mac and Cheese was kind of bland.

I've been to different City Barbecue locations, and they've always been good. Tonight is no exception. Had the North Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich. I would've probably given it 5 stars if the vinegar taste was more intense as one would commonly have in NC, but the sandwich was still very good regardless. Had baked beans and gumbo for sides. If you want barbecue in the Columbus area, pick a City Barbecue location.

If you like good BBQ and you are traveling though central Ohio, gotta try one of these locations. This one was my favorite just because it was tucked away, and the layout is better designed for carry out. Yes those are upright chest type smokers outside. Meat here is fresh cut to your order. Always has a good flavor. Brisket tastes like Brisket, not roast beef. Chicken is generous too, Awesome flavor and moist. On a diet? Try the turkey. It's all good. Sides? Generous portions, and yes, that's meat in the beans. It's supposed to be there. Cole slaw has a sweet, tangy, and finally slaw flavor profile. Yes you should take the cabbage at some point. All other sides were good (wish they were that good when I was a kid). Specializes in lunch, casual supper, mid afternoon get away, and accel in carry out. Worth the mile round trip off the interstate too.

Excellent Bbq. Love it all. Great pork & brisket. The chicken & sausage is also excellent. Ribs stand out in Columbus. During lent the fried catfish is awesome. The smoked salmon is some of the best I've ever eaten. The side are excellent. I love the green beans. Don't miss the banana pudding.

My wife and I love City BBQ and it's great to have one local. We've never had a bad experience. The ribs, the pulled pork and the brisket are so good. They have great sides too. Awesome green beans and potato salad!!

I've pretty much toured the menu at this location and have never been disappointed. I love BBQ when I'm in the mood for it, so this isn't a place I go to often, but I love it when I do. Today, I tried online ordering for an order for 6 people. I was sure it would get screwed up because of all the sides and special ways to order a sandwich (lean, regular, extra bark, bun, naked, etc). The order was ready ON TIME, and it was PERFECT. The gal at the counter was especially pleasant and professional when I picked up our order, and it was great choice for a late Sunday lunch.

She likes the brisket and the greens and I like the pulled pork sandwich. The corn-bake is awesome and the mac-n-cheese is like mom's oven-baked. Desserts are great. The lemonade and sweet-tea are hand-made. I usually eat too much there and leave very contented.

This is my families first time in Columbus, and we decided to come here. GREAT CHOICE!! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the pulled pork wasn't hot. Great flavor though

Amazing barbecue--their pulled pork can't be beat. I tried their original and spicy sauces and liked both of them. Their beans were good and had pieces of brisket, but were a touch sweet for me. Vinegar slaw was nice and crunchy.

We love City Barbeque's food and eat there often, but we were unaware of their Tuesday specials until they sent us an email explaining the deal. You can buy ribs for $1.15 each, and that's a great idea because you don't have to order a slab of ribs and then schlep home the meat that you couldn't finish. They also don't slather their ribs in any sauce (they allow you to choose from the variety of sauces on the tables). Their ribs are so fall-off-the-bone delicious and have those great carcinogen-causing black grilled bits that true carnivore's adore. The only negative thing that happened there at dinner last night were the scads of squealing kids that came in and sat at tables surrounding ours. Apparently, there was some sort of children's sporting event in the area, and their parents decided to meet up at City Barbeque for dinner after. They were laughing & talking with each other, but miraculously could not hear the car alarm-volume screeching that their progeny were producing; or maybe they just didn't care. But that's not City's fault: they are only guilty of providing excellent que in a cool-ass joint!

I seriously get City Barbeque once a week. Probably the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. The pulled chicken and brisket are amazing as well. I always grab a Cheerwine (southern cherry flavored pop) and a side as well. For sides, I recommend the hush puppies and the baked beans. Honestly, I have not had an item on the menu that I don't like. I also strongly recommend the mustard BBQ sauce. It's got a bit more of a tang than the rest of their sauces, which I prefer. Friendly, and often very attractive, staff as well. A bit pricy, but completely worth it if you're a huge BBQ fan like I am.

Great BBQ place, convenient location, friendly staff. You really can't go wrong here. If it's your first time or you're just really hungry, get the City Sampler and hold on to your hat. The brisket is so good, with or without sauce. But I would recommend you try the Brush Fire sauce, even just a tiny bit. Tip: many of the platters come with 2 sides. Make one of those sides a banana pudding and you can thank me later. Also, did you know they have Cheerwine at City BBQ? One of the very few places you can get it here in Ohio.

The pursuit of barbecue knows no bounds, including a stop in Columbus, Ohio. At the recommend of cousin, a fellow Brethren of the Barbecue, we swung by this joint in the beginning of July. Given that I was in central Ohio - an area not at all known for the 'cue arts, I had a lot of doubts. I was pleasantly surprised. Between the four of us, we had two of the large/deluxe samplers. Each sampler came with a 'cued chicken quarter, spare ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. And some sides, but they aren't really important, are they? I suppose I should run down those, too. The cornbread was delicious, and slaw average, beans decent, velvetta mac n' chesse, Texas toast, and the other sides were apparently forgettable, as I cannot remember them. We left with our appetites quenched, and two doggie boxes. Anyway, back to the reason you're reading this - the tasty, tasty meats... The Ribs - Technically, they were a touch over done, which means they fell off the bone. Supposedly, they should have a slight tug off the bone - but this isn't a competition, so they were delicious. As with the rest of the meat, it had a light smoke flavor, a touch light for my taste. The Pulled Pork - Your basic, good, tasty Pulled Pork. Once again, a light smoke flavor. It was 'cued well, and I would gladly have it again. The Brisket - It looked like we got a mix flat and point, so I was happy to grab the point before anyone else. It was a well cooked brisket, and a good attempt outside of the Great Brisket State of Texas. The Chicken - The chicken was cooked well - still nice and juicy, with a decent skin. Paired well with the plethora of sauces they offer. The Sauces - I am from the school of thoughts that believes sauces can be a crime against nature. If you have a good rub, and can run a pit, you don't need any sauce. The closest you should ever get to a sauce should be a Carolina mop. Disclaimer done. The four sauces they offered were good, and complimented the meat well. The spicy sauce and the vinegar based were the hits. For the record, most of the meat did not need sauce to mask the flavor. Overall, I enjoyed this joint. I think this franchise did a great job. I can only hope they don't over-expand, and crash like Corky's (and, according to some folks, Dreamland). Definitely impressed by this solid 'cue joint in the middle of Ohio. City 'Cue will get a generous Four Stars. They are a solid Three Stars in Texas (and Ten Stars in Southern Mississippi - yick), so they get the Ohio Bonus of another star.

My favorite bbq joint. I have never had any issues with the food. The staff is friendly. The sauce is awesome! Haven't had a bad meal yet and I'm there pretty regularly. Even turned a couple friends into regulars. I used to have to order ribs mail order from NC, but now that City BBQ is here these are better because I don't have to cook them myself!

They serve Gerber Amish raised chicken - SOLD! Props to the person who made the decision to use Gerber! I am a vegetarian who will eat clean meats occasionally to keep nutrients up buy only good clean raised meats. Yeah City Barbeque! The side dishes are good to great and portions generous. Really like the Kansas sauce. Joseph says: Very good I will eat here again, had a slab with original sauce
